Love is in the air at Strawberry Fields

Four proposals and two weddings…all in just one glorious month!

We have always thought of ourselves as a stylish, warm and welcoming Bed and Breakfast with lovely staff (maybe we are a bit biased). It appears our recent guests have decided that we are also the perfect place to ‘pop the question’. It seems we bring luck to the ‘Proposer’ too, at least by the happy smiles on their faces, and dare we say it a touch of relief as well.

Just this week, we have placed a bouquet of red heart balloons, tracked down 50 open pink lilies, put petals on beds, and delivered an ice bucket and champagne glasses by hand* – all in the name of love.

Perhaps it is our ‘Love’ pillows and knitted hearts or the cosy feel of our bedrooms that inspire these romantic acts or perhaps, more practically speaking, it’s our fantastic location combined with unbeatable midweek rates.

Or maybe it’s the magical effect of Brighton. Ever since the Prince Regent escaped to the city for love trysts with Maria Fitzherbert, Brighton has been known as a romantic destination. Indeed Prince Regent built the original ‘love nest’ here, the Royal Pavilion. It’s a must visit on any romantic break. Be inspired by the elaborate architecture and opulent interiors.

Have a romantic Autumn.

*I’m afraid you have to bring your own fizz as we are not licensed – but of course we are more than happy to put it on ice for you.
