A Fresh Start to 2015

A Fresh Start to 2015

We luckily get the chance to travel during winter (this year Cuban Classic Cars, Costa Rican Sloths and a sail through Central America – what a kaleidoscopic contrast).

Though we saw lots to inspire, for our recent renovation of Strawberry Fields we took our muse from the coastal resorts of New England, with dreamy, creamy colours, enamel lights with wooden accents and shutters to maximise the views across to the square and beyond. Two of my delightful (and very talented) god children Anneke and Nicholas, live in the USA and are fortunate enough to have an idyllic holiday home in Cape Cod, we just wish we had their sandy beaches and summer temperatures too!

Over the winter, we’ve taken the opportunity to refresh our rooms ready for the coming spring. The carpets have been expertly cleaned (thank you Carpet Doctors), the fixtures and furnishings have been updated and our refurbished rooms are pristine and gorgeous ready to welcome you. Even our windows had an extra special spring clean and polish the other day (thank you Clean View).

All of our en-suite rooms now feature King Size beds (some even have Super King), new lighting, lamps, cushions and mattresses. Many can be set up as twins if you prefer and the sea view doubles can even have an extra bed made up for trio’s.

So come and visit soon, we’ve even got a couple of surprises up our sleeve for the summer! In the next few months we are trialling a ‘Pantry’ area in reception with lots of locally sourced treats and the chance to taste the best of Brighton – we have also got concierge access to some of the hottest tables in town so what are you waiting for?

Bye for now (slothfully),

P.S. A quick update on previous blogs

  1. We are very proud to announce that Andrei came runner up in the unsung hero category at the hotel awards dinner!
  2. Early May will see us headed back to Burma (Myanmar) for the official opening of schools number two and three in the Burmese Delta and Shan state – an interesting (if very hot and wet) time to be there with elections in prospect.
