Brighton Pride on your doorstep
If you didn’t know Strawberry Fields is located in the heart of the Brighton B&B district in Kemp Town. We’re only a few minutes from the seafront and ten minutes from the city centre including the Royal Pavilion and The Lanes. But when it comes to Brighton Pride, the UK’s biggest Pride Festival now in it’s 25th year, some of the activities are right on our doorstep!
The event starts with a parade on Saturday morning along the seafront to Preston Park where the festival kicks off with a whole range of entertainment and acts. This year the Human League and Fatboy Slim are headlining. After the afternoon’s entertainment at Preston Park, the action moves to the Pride Village Party on and around St James’s Street, just at the end of our road.
But the action gets even closer than that – together with all the other bed and breakfasts – we sponsor a gathering in the gardens of our square – the Village Fayre in New Steine Gardens.
Last year we had a bar and relaxed seating area, food and even a Ferris wheel.
This year will have a marquee and entertainment. Saturday is all about disco with English Disco Lover’s Sam Moffett and the fabulous Boogaloo Stu from Dynamite Boogaloo. In our humble opinion though, Sunday is often the best day as people have quietened down and are just enjoying the atmosphere. There’s a relaxed vibe in the square as people enjoy the sun, the views and some fantastic acoustic music.
So why not come and see us this year? Brighton Pride runs over the weekend of the 1st – 2nd August 2015.
